I have a 97 mariner 60 2 stroke with red stator and cdm's serial # OP111036 i had no spark on all 3 cylinder's i replaced the trigger and replaced the stator and still no spark. With the old stator DVA was 12 volt's with new one but was used previously as their was mark's on it is giving 30v . I tested power at my kill switch wire's presuming their the black/yellow one's and got 2.2 volt's when i switched on the ignition on all 3 cdm's is this good or bad ??? any help would be great thank's again lad's
there is a tilt kill switch on mine so if the motor is tilted it won't start. It has a black/yellow wire going to it. It is a mercury switch. Might check that. It has to be mounted at an angle to work. It seems unlikely that two stator trigger comb. could be bad. Did you say you checked the nuetral switch on the control lever? Have to let someone moor knowledgeable answer this one................Jerry
Disconnect the black/yellow wire from the switch box and ck for spark, if none disconnect 1 CDM at a time and when spark returns replace the disconnected CDM. A single shorted CDM can cause the whole system to lose spark.
I had same problems with a 98 40 horse mercury and after replacing many parts it ended up being the rev limiter which you can bypass to test if its that.
