i have an '81 evinrude 70 and the gears in the foot are blown up. i also have a '79 evinrude 115, with a good foot, but a blown up powerhead. the prop splines are the same between the two, but does anyone know if the gear sets are interchangeable?? i sure would like to hear a yes, the new baby is eating up the boat budget, literaly. formula and dipers are much expensive.

I do not think the driveshaft spline is the same on those lower units.
