Re: Fiberglass Paint

Depends on what part of the boat you are painting? inside or out?

Re: Fiberglass Paint

You may use a speciality paint made for non-slip floors, or you can add a non-slip ingredient to standard marine one-part poylurethane paint.

Re: Fiberglass Paint

Murray, Is the acrylic urethane a Marine paint? I suspect it may be automotive paint, which is likely unsuitable. You can buy store-brand (West Marine, Boaters World) Marine one-part polyurethane paint for $15/qt. You will not need more than 1 qt for a floor in a boat less than 30'. Using Gelcoat will be a real PITA, and is really not required for a floor. Make sure the surface you are painting is clean, smooth and has enough thickness of resin over the cloth to provide strength.

Re: Fiberglass Paint

just my 2 cents worth when i had my bayliner i painted the hull with cheap marine enamel and did a stripe on the comand bridge with base/clear auto paint. after 5 years in the water the marine enamel had a few scuffs
but the base/clear still looked awesome.

Re: Fiberglass Paint

murray m8...You really havent decribed what you want to paint man..

your post is Fiberglass paint..I said Gel.. now your asking if a Thane. is good for inside and out..what are you wanting to do ? Paint Fiberglass ? or paint an allready finished area ..or everything ? you must understand that inside..out..here ..there would be 4 questions..there is no "best" one paint for everything depending on existing and base properties..
