what year evinrude 150 crossflow sport

i have a 150 crossflow with sport on cowl there no numbers on tilt section or on power head but it has rectifyer small in front of term board im trying to figure
out if its 1979 or the 80s series because the water pump impeller changes from 79 to 80 and what the sport emblem was for probaly decaration but dont know

and if any one knows what years the sport were made
thanks i know my post are cofusing some times
have hard time typing what im thinking

Regardless of the year, the lower unit may have been switched at some point. I'd suggest that before purchasing any water pump parts, you drop the lower unit and remove the present impeller to eliminate all doubt.

The OMC parts lists from 1980 show the word "sport" on the side of the cowling. This may have been a one-year designation. I don't think there is a difference in the pumps for the years in this range. Most 79 and up supercede to the same number: 5001594 anyway. You would find it easier if you could identify the model number from the serial plate, riveted on the transom bracket.
