Poppit Valve on 2003 Mercury Optimax 150

Does anyone know how to change the poppit valve on
the 2003 Mercury Optimax 150 motor? Any help will
be appreciated. By the way where is it located on the engine block?

1st, why do you want to change it, they don't go bad all that ofter, just a diaphram and sping w/gaskets.
I am not up optis, but if you take the serial number and go to Mercury parts express you should find it.
If it is in the same as the regular V-6's, then it will be on the lower starboard side of the block and looks like a figure 8 laying on its side. 4 small bolts, be careful not to strip them. It is spring loaded but nothing is going to jump out at you. There is no kit, so you have to order the parts individually. On my 200hp V-6, I drop the lower cowling which makes it a whole lot easier.
