All 3 of "them" on C-Span today

I have been watching a little more C-Span. I am making an effort to hear stuff from the horse's mouths, instead of filtered through whatever media. Today I heard speeches from Edwards, Obama, and Ms. Rodham Clinton, it was kinda like a Sunday Horror Movie Marathon, but I digress. I am more afraid than I was before. No one needs to tell me how dangerous these guys/gal all are, They tell you themselves, and they are proud of it . . . :% Highlights:

Obama

- He is going to reinstate affirmative action programs wherever he sees the need. He claims there is still widespread discrimination in this country and we cannot stop until we are all equal.

- He wants to insure that Americans all have the opportunity for the American dream that is currently stifled by income gaps and discrimination.

- He wants to insure equal access to equal Health-care for all Americans. Not clear how he is going to accomplish that.

Rodham Clinton

- Wants to insure that all Americans are free to cast their votes as there was widespread voter fraud even in this 21st century. African Americans were denied equal opportunity to vote as rich white Americans.

- Is ashamed of the way "this Administration" has treated our troops when they need us most: At Veteran's Hospitals.

- Is embarrassed at what this Administration has done in the aftermath of Katrina, and it is disgraceful that we still have people living in Trailers.

Edwards

- Would pull out 50,000 troops from Iraq immediately

- Wants to put an immediate cap on CO2 emissions in the US, so that we can be responsible for ourselves before we deal with the Chinese and Indians.

- And if Americans won't do it, we will force them to through Legislation requiring that they buy more efficient vehicles.

None of these are direct quotes, but I stand by the intent of their messages and tone. What I see as a consistency here is that we need them to fix a bunch of broken stuff that we are not capable of fixing ourselves. We need them to make it better for us. We are dependent, we have been wronged, and we deserve to get even. Why do voters gravitate to people that tell us we suck?

Any mention of Ann Coulter calling the Breck Girl, uh....
Light in the loafers?......
I laughed so hard it made beer come out of my nose....
With all of the carp going on in the world, all they can do is whine about the 'Havenot's'? :|
It's getting tougher to think about voting Dem. everyday.....
I just hope there are more 'Have's' than 'Not's'......
You really can make something of yourself in this country if you want to......
But ya might have to get up off your arse to get it....
We'll be praying to Mecca or be dead if this keeps up....JK

My 18 YO is working part time at a Van's Shoe Store. He's already been offered a Management position. All he really does is show up on time and do what they tell him. When I think about it, that's all I did when I started at the Cat dealer in '77. They kept giving me promotions and stuff. I didn't leave until 2001 and I could still be there if I wanted. I really don't think it is that hard . . .

Because they are weak and can not think for themselves. They need someone else to do the work and take care of them. It is pitiful, but I believe it to be true.
What ever happened to working hard and making a living for yourself and your family? All have the opportunity to do so, like it or not. Some are just more driven then others. Why work when we can get paid not to work is the mentality of some. Pop out 5 kids by 5 fathers and ole hill will raise the taxes on us that do work to pay for it. And let's raise the taxes again to give all "free" health care. It's only "free" to those who won't work.
Obama is just playing the race card, discreetly, for the black vote. All they want is the vote and will say anything to get it.
And the republicans aren't any better.

I pretty much agree. At least they don't try and do anything . . . We need less doing and more just sitting around. We can leave matters of security and state to them and leave matters of home to us. We'll do OK without 'em. I like Republitarians.

Frightening!

Let's hope the other half comes to the same conclusion. But lest we forget, a signifigant part of the current electorate has been weened at the trough of Socialism.

Unfortunately, the current Administration (yes GW) has not done anything to dispell this trend.

I have to agree, sad as it is to say.

It's the new national religion, made fasionable by the Left's castigation of Christianity. People, after all, are desirous of an afterlife and if the Biblical promise of it has been driven out of favor, then what else do people have to grab onto?

Imagine that! An overly simplistic, over the top rhetoric in a political speech.

Who'd a thunk it possible?

Next thing you're going to tell me is there are those out there suggesting they are going to cut our taxes while increasing our benefits.

Are you suggesting that I should ignore their thoughts, words, policies, ideas? Maybe I should vote for the prettiest one? Best hair? Tallest? Seriously, should I take a dart with me into the voting booth? I guess if it's a touch screen I could use a little suction cup dart . . .

My noting of her comments is no indication of how I feel about the Veterans thing. I was:

a) being fair and noting the biggees that I recall.

b) I'd bet my last dollar that those conditions didn't start yesterday and,

c) it seems a little inconsistent to try and deny additional funding, and claim to support the troops. I understand that she/they want us out. Most Americans probably want us out. I want us out, when the time is right. But it would seem to me that money now is in the direct interest of our soldiers.

Well, it is inconsistent, but then the budget presented to Congress that cuts VA spending was presented by this president, not Hillary. I've heard of nothing that suggests Hillary is in favor of cutting funding in any way to any of our troops, past or present

PW2,

You are probably right. This link notes that she wants to limit funding to Iraqi troops, and it notes the impact on US troops, but that is not what I had thought, I stand corrected: http://www.hillaryclintonfiles.com/?cat=6
