IS there hope

I am in possession of a 93 seadoo 600 and i just noticed that the drivershaft wont turn, now i know what this usually means but I was hopin that there may be another thing that could be wrong with it or maybe im doin something wrong as far as checkin to see if its good. I am very new to this jetski stuff and would appreciate if someone could tell me how to check and see if everything is ok before i buy it I also have a 96 polaris 900 that i could use the same advice on

the older sea doo pumps can corrode and lock up, also the drive shaft bearings can also lock to the drive shaft, but that usually rips the hose that holds the bearing but not always.
My first guess is the pump went bad

Pull the pump and then see if the motor turns over. if it doesnt the motor may be locked up. Pull the head ( dont worry it has rubber o rings for a head gasket) and take a peek
