I've got a 1998 Pro Gator W/ a Mariner 225 efi, it runs fine out of the whater but as soon as you put it in and gas it, it bogs down and after you run it for about 10 min or so it starts giving a warning beep but i keep the oil full.
Im clueless, this is the first big boat i've owned.:%

does it have an oil resevoir on the motor? I had a 150 that did that and I took the cap off and burped the air out of the top and it fixed it. there is a float switch in it and if some air gets trapped in the top it sets off the horn. Jerry

There are more things that will cause the alarm to go off than just the oil reservoir.
Water in the motor fuel filter?
Overheat
Have you done any preventive maintenance on it? Such as a tuneup, fuel filters, raw water pump impeller?
Do you have an OEM service manual for your motor? Without it, troubleshooting an EFI system turns into a "Thow parts at it till it works" method, and very expensive.
Also need an engine SN for more detailed info.

don, the s/n of the motor is 0g508964. I don't have an OEM manual but i have changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, and I've burped the "on motor" oil reseivor.
