I have an 88 Santego. Got it at end of season. I had it moved to another marina. The harbormaster of that marina motored and called to tell me the starboard lower unit seemed to bog down/loose acceleration above about 2200 rpm. He knew the part problem and compared it to a clutch. And that it should be repaired.
Although I do not seriously question his opinion, I had not noticed this when I ran it--but I had only had it a few weeks--so I wonder if I can continue to run it?
Second, what type of repair(s) am I looking at and how much should I expect to spend? I am new and thank you.
