Ok I my friend needs some help he has a 1996 mar. 225 and was run about 60 mph the back let go he then heard some clicking and then when he went to go again the boat will not go the gear shift go easy in front and rev. but the boat will not move any help thanks

Did you pop the cowl and see if the shifter on the side of the motor is actually going into gear?

If it is, time to drain the gear lube and check for metal particles on the magnet on the drain plug.
What color is the gear lube?
