Where is the Model No?

Bought a boat recently with a Johnson 65hp Powershift 2 on it but I can't seem to find a model No on it. Everthing is faded and unreadable. There is a number stamped in the block 318858. Can anyone help on where to look for the model details?

Welcome deerjoh, to iboats!

Look on the port transom bracket for a metal tag. The Model and Serial number will be there. Or, look on the block for a large silver welch plug. They will be there also.

Post the model number here and we can help with the year.

Yes it was there where you said it would be.

1973 electric start long shaft (20") model....
