I am looking possibly purchasing a 2003 customweld viper II v6 inboard jet. I am looking for peoples thoughts on customweld as opposed to other brands like jetcraft etc.

Also is the vortex v6 enough power for a 19 foot boat.

Are there any pitfalls to look for when buying this type of boat. I am told the hull bottomis in like new condition.

I have lots of experience with outboards none with inboard jets.

thank you

jets are notoriously, inefficient. there is approximately a 30% loss of hp. so if you are use to the power of the V6 vortec, prop powered, your going to be disappointed. the jets have there place, if boating in shallow or rocky areas.

Whether it has enough power really depends on what you are doing with it. If you plan on running it upstream of a violent river, you might run out of steam. Most of those guys who do that are running big block motors. If you are looking for out and out speed on a lake, this isn't going to do it for you. If you just want a durable multipurpose boat that'll get you from point a to b, in various water from skinny to deep, and are not in a big hurry, this will work just fine.
