Re: 3 different motors on a brand new boat.
I find it hard to believe that they could run equally. I mean trying to match gear ratios and prop pitches would be like hitting the lottery. It would sure be a difficult rig to sell! But if he's doing it for attention, I'm sure he gets plenty. Probably mostly people wondering what kind of idiot he is.

So "Looking Dorky" is no longer an excuse for not wearing one.
This is an ideal setup in that it allows a customer the chance to run each motor alone and pick the one that tickles his/her fancy the best. No drag involved -- the motors can be tilted up. If the dealer had his wits about him he would have also installed a fuel flow monitor so actual fuel burn rates could be checked with each engine at any given speed up to wide open throttle. Sharp business man.

Re: 3 different motors on a brand new boat.
Looks like Pro Marine's boat. They don't sell boats or motors, just parts. The whole idea is to show they stock parts for all kinds of motors. It's been around about a year or so now. They were talking about 3 different 4 strokes next time around.

that boat is around hear alot. they are local to the tampa area. the owner got the idea so that it would attract attention, and look what its doing, it JUST got the company's name all over this bulletin board.... FREE ADVERTISING!
On an ETEC ad, they had an Etec 250 and a merc (i think, maybe Yammie) 250. They would trim one up to show that the E'rude planed the boat, and the merc wouldn't pull it on plane.
Yeah I think I saw that boat as some kind of promo for the E-tec. They've come up with some wild promotions for that engine like that tug of war test against the yamaha.

It has nothing to do with pitting one motor aginst another. Pro Marine wants to promote their distributorship as one who stocks parts for all brands of motors.
