transom to motor problem will jack plate help

i just got a wareagle with a 21in transom i have a nissan motor and the shaft from top of the clamp bracket to the anti cavitation plate measures to 18in , the boat is somewhat v bottom so the transome varies 1in to the left or right of the center mark can i run this motor like this or can i get a jack plate to lower it down that 2 or 3 in i dont want to cut the transom but i love this motor and its hard to get a good motor for a good price

i think i would try the engine as it is. if you have problems with over revs, and ventiation, add the jack plate.

It's probably a 20" transom. It's at an angle, so the length of the transom is longer than the height of the transom. Height is measured perpindicular to the keel. I don't know of any modern outboards that aren't made for a 15", 20", or 25" transom. That would leave them awfully limited as far as sales.

Run it and see if you have ventilation problems. Odds are it will be fine...
