Snopes is the iconic website that explores urban legends (old wives tales), just like Wikipedia has become the iconic online encyclopedia. Snopes, unlike the Bush administration, deals with facts and proper documentation. Snopes is not a political entity. But if you don't like what the preeminent authority has to say, go ahead with your usual mindless bashing. It's entirely predictable.

There goes Willy again... You really have to admire the guys tenacity.

Every response is a variation on a theme:

1) He dismisses what you say as mindless, pathetic, etc.

2) He demands a reference. As if it's our job to look everything up for him.

3) OPTIONAL: He provides a link to a questionable site which he claims is bullet proof.

4) He dismisses any supporting evidence as partisan.

Don't bother to rebut anything he says because he responds with steps 1-4 above.

Any mention of politics automatically precludes unquestionable apoliticality (is that a word?). You're asking the impossible.

As far as preeminence, I see no viable competition to Snopes at this juncture. That makes them preeminent.
