120 hp evinrude that wont cool

HEY all i have a evinrude boat motor that was over hauled and a new water pump was installed and now for some reason the water will not flow thru the motor and circulate thru. does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be.

Could be the key slipped out of the impellor during installation. Water tube didn't get lined up into the waterpump housing. Water tube is broke or kinked........

Not suggesting that this is your problem, but that reminds me of the time I replaced the powerhead in an old Evinrude boat, Two-stroke IO, powerhead similar to an OB. Used an outboard powerhead gasket which looks about the same. Dang near cooked that new powerhead.

Start with the basics..... Drop the lower unit and double check the previous work.

Maybe we skipped something. How are you testing it? In the water, in a barrel, or on ears??

yep pull it and check
sometimes if u roll the rubber on the impeller housing where the tube goes, u will not have enough pressure to move the water up to the power head
