I have a Classic 50 and the rpm gauge does not return to 0 when it is not running. It stops at about 600. I have had some gauges before that did this but operated correctly. What do y'all think of this case? Is there an easy way to check it?

Re: RPM gauge

That gauge is called a tachometer. Many gauges do not return to zero when the key is turned off. The more important questions are: 1) does it go to zero when the key is turned on -- engine not started, and 2) does it read correctly after the engine is started. If the answer to both questions is yes -- the tach is ok.
