Default Need help on throttle/shift controll please

hey Gang hope everyones got a run in or 2 already this year... I need help with my throttle controll. It's on an 85' Trophy. This is a side mount single lever (no trim). To prime when cold the base of the lever is pulled away from the boat and pushed forward to operate throttle only. (it disengages from the shif mech). My issue is I can no longer operate throttle only. The controll when pulled out comes out really far (too far) and you can move it but it's not operating the throttle. Is there a bolt behind the sticker on that controll i need to tighten, or do I need to disasemble ? Boat runs and shifts fine but I'd like to be able to bring the idle up at the dock to warm it up faster..I believe the controll to be standard bayliner controll.
Thanks for any ideas !
Joe

Joe,

Yup, had a couple good runs with my Bayliner Trophy
Fish and Ski. 1984. My shift lever has a plastic cap that covers the screw. The cap just snaps off. I think it is possible for that screw to come loose and cause the lever to not work properly.
I found no info in my books about it.

Mike
