johnson powershift II control - lost key!!

I bought this control box but it has no key, it says 14 where the key goes and turns.. I have read some posts, that this is the number required to get a replacement. Does anyone have replacement or know the part number !?

Part number should be 0501779 BRP/Johnson/Evinrude dealer is the source.

wow that was quick thanks alot.. I will call up a johnson dealer and find out with this part number..
hopefully it works!! was thinking to take that thing apart but thats lotta work..

If the part number doesn't get the right key, take the boat to the dealer and have them use the "try-out" set. There aren't that many different keys. The simply try each one until they get the one that works. Then go to any home store and have a few extras made. Nothing unique about the blanks.

The part number is probably for a blank. A locksmith has to cut it using the code (14). But he has to know who made the lock. If he is good at what he does, he will know. If he is that good, he probably has the blank.
