The previous owner of my boat had apparently disconnected the choke solenoid from the toggle and connecting it to the ignition. This arrangment engaged the choke when the ignition key was turned. I'm trying to put the toggle back into the loop again. I have fixed the choke selector so the out=manual choke, in=choke off, and middle=automatic choke.

When in the middle setting and with the solenoid reciving power, the plunger is pulled down and the choke is engaged. However, after the solenoid is off the choke remains closed. There is nothing holding the choke closed but there is nothing holding it open either. Does the vacuum created by the powerhead open the choke, or do I hav esomething connected wrong. (I have the spring between the plunger and the carb linkage connected but it only works in tension--when the plubger is down).

Is the spring under the plunger (in the solenoid) there?

Nope, I never saw it. I guess the previous owner took care of that for me.

I'll order one now, thanks....

Oh, I think that the previous owner clipped the toggle switch wires from the box. I've checked everything going to the terminal block on the powerhead and couldn't find anything that responded to the toggle. Is there something on the powerhead that I could have missed that leads to the toggle? I can see two clipped wires in the control box, but I haven't been able to get to them anough to test them yet (Another post from earlier today).
