We have a hevy duty delta shaper on Cragslist. It had been there for a while with no offers so last night at 2 am dad lowered the price from 1200 to 900 bucks. By 6 am, we already had three emails on it. One was asking if we would take 800, and the other was asking for more info. Those seem to be legitimate. The third was a little suspicious. He said that 900 was a fairly reasonable price and to email him to make pickup arrangements. Dad emailed him back, and within two hours, had a response. It was saying that the guys secretary would send him a check for 5000, and he would send movers to pick it up. Then, dad would be supposed to give the change to the movers, and they would get it back to the buyer. Yeah Right.
The little plot was way to obvious. The check they would send would be bad, and they would get a free machine plus the amount of change. Dad emailed him back that he only accepts cash in person, and with witnesses. Then he goes to report them.
This thing was way to obvious. Do people actually fall for something like this?
