On the bumper trim that goes all the way around the hull what is the metal made out of? I thought it was stainless, but on closer inspection maybe galvanized metal? It's really dull and needs a good cleaning.

It's probably aluminum... has been on almost every boat I've seen.

If it is, it's will probably clean up nicely to a clean matte silver finish... it won't ever be shiny silver without a coating of some sort.
