No. It could produce sparks that will blow you up. Also marine starters are better suited for their environment.

Ditto!!

Sort of, You may consider a gear reduction starter, as I believe that they are sealed, so no spark risk.

Bondo, will correct me if I am wrong.:'(

With twin V8's and a 27 footer,I hope you find a good marine mechanic,and let him work on your boat.There are many things spark related and fuel leakage related that need tending.

You've got a whole lot of bilge area,and the wrong starter and some fumes ..........

I hope the newer/smaller starters are spark proof,but I haven't seen it in writting,yet.

Sounds like a great boat ! Enjoy !

This is a Gear reduction Starter,.... It's Totally Sealed by Design,+ Are Safe in a Boat..........

The 1 Tommays shows is a traditional starter,... It has Extra Seals,+ Plates to Sparkproof it........

This is a Permant Magnet Starter,........
I Don't Know,.... But I Don't Think they're Sealed........
