I have a 2006 - 3.0 litre mercruiser alpha I which has the fuel enrichment feature for cold starts. The fuel enrichment is supposed to disengage when the engine reaches normal operating temperature of 170 degrees. However, this does not occur and the engine is running extremely rich. The only way to get it to disengage is to shut off the motor, let it sit for a couple of minutes. After restarting, it then runs fine. I have had it to the dealer three times, but all they do is adjust the carb and this has not cured the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions that I may take to the dealer? I think there must be temperature sensors that are not working right but I don't have the factory service manuals.

You are still under warranty, look at your Mercruiser paper work that came with your boat. THere are phone numbers for Mercruiser you can contact to get this straightened ot.
Seems to me a good Merc dealer would have had enough sense to call tech support if they can't fix the problem. So you might as well call Merc and explain the situation, they will work with you and the dealer to get the problem fixed.
I've only seen a few boats with the TKS system, and so far they all work, so I really haven't had time to get into the system and see how it works. I do know that Merc has a new service bulletin out about a diode in the TKS system, but don't remember all the specifics.
