Bench testing a 1989 3 wire yamaha 90hp trim/tilt motor

The pump motor has 3 wires a green,blue and black, which 2 do I place onto the battery to get the motor to spin? My manual doesn't tell me that I could find and I am a little afraid to gamble.

Black to ground. Blue to hot for up. Green to hot for down.
