I just bought a motor for my boat 1979 mercury 115 hp.The problem is that i have no ignition switch.I just bought one , but not sure where wires go.I have a black,red,orange,white,and yellow wire.Do you have some sort of color coded wiring guide that shows which wires are to go to which port on the ignition switch?

Note: if your ADI Merc has the Idle Stabilizer as shown in this diagram, remove it. They can cause problems, if they fail, which may result in engine failure from severe detonation.

Do you recommend removing the Idle Stabilizer on a 1996 Mercury 150hp V6 carbed engine too? I would hate to have an engine failure due to a failed Idle Stabilizer. By the way, how badly is the idling affected when it is removed. Is there a barely noticeable change or does it affect the idling a lot?

this is great yellow =solenoid ,red=batt,black=grond,where do i put orange and white at on key, i have accessory and two m spots left on ignition switch. plus that stabililzer do i have to do any thing special to wire just cap wires.
