Hydraulic Tilt

I seem to remember a hydraulic pump type tilt {not trim} that could be added on to a old OMC. It came with pump lever cylinder and a hose back to the actuator lift.

The cylinder was located by the control box. This was a aftermarket product. I would like to add it to my old 25 hp OMC. I wonder if it's still available.

Anyone know of this type of tilt system.

you must be as old as i am. i remember them, but haven't seen one in a hunerd years. there is a lever that connect over the top of the engine cowl, and provides assistance and leverage to tilt the engine. i think it's just called a tilt lever. will look for one and add it if i find it.

Thanks.....that's kinda what I'm looking for, but the one I remember was attached to the transom and you pumped from a cylinder near the controls.

i know what you are talking about, try tcoutboards.com they are an outboard junk yard, an may have one.

Thanks again Tashasdaddy I have E-mailed many requests to several marine junkyards. Now wait and see what happens next.

I kinda think that they might be as rare as hens teeth but you never know with the internet.

You can always get a CMC tilt/trim system, but it is a bit spendy at $400ish bones...

That was indeed an old CMC unit. I installed several, in my boat fixing years.

They worked great and then they just disappeared. CMC went electric/hydraulic, after that.

I never found the tilt system I was looking for.
I used this instead, it worked alright you just have to make sure not to give to much throttle in reverse.
