Default Raising motor on transom

As I experimented with my Mk IIC Futura (12.5') last fall, I noticed that the engine kicked a fair amount of spray up into the boat at times. I've read that an outboard riding too low in the water will do that, and in looking things over I think that's my problem. I have a new Honda 15hp 4 stroke, and the manual says the antiventilation plate should be 0" to 2" below the bottom of the boat. Mine looks to be about 4". It's definitely a short-shaft motor, by the way, but in looking at its specs it seems Honda's shaft lengths are a bit longer than some other manufacturers.

What would be the best way to raise the engine 2 or 3 inches on the transom? I'm rather new to boating, so I'm afraid I'm clueless as to how to fix this. Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks for the advice! How would you raise it on the transom 2"-4"? Adjusting the trim doesn't change things nearly enough.

4" is quite a bit of height to raise it but the best would be a transom elevator ....... here is a link .... http://www.iboats.com/mall/?keywords...&view_id=40157 ....... you would need to bolt this on and then bolt the motor onto it as well .......
