Force 125 possible lower unit problem

I've never had a lower unit proble, therefore I cannot say for sure but can someone help me identfy.

Engine runs fine however when in gear it acts like it is misfiring meaning the boat shakes and rattles like the engine is misfiring. In fact engine is fine. The prop comes off in the process. A tech said he repaired the problem the first time however it happened again at the very first time out. Assuming he would know if it was a lower unit problem but he diagnosed it as motor mount problem. Are there anyone out there experienced same thing? Please help.

That sure doesn't sound like a typical problem.Did you actually lose the prop?I wonder if perhaps it is not going all the way into gear.On some motors you can unhook the shift cable and shift by hand to see if it will run right.

Yes I've lost the prop and yes it did sound like either not in gear completely or the gear was slipping. Not knowing how the lower unit operates it is hard to analyse the sounds and motions. It makes sense what you suggest if in fact prop shaft spins and stops causing the bolt to get loose. I will try and post back. Thank you very much.

You may want to drain the gearcase and check for metal filings and note the color of the lube.
I don't know about the Force but most motors have
some sort of device to keep the prop nut tight.Some sort of lock washer or jamb nut.
