Default separating fuel filter location

Hi all,
A question from a newbie here. I have a 2005 180 sport, with a Mercruiser 3.0L and an Alpha 1.

a. Please tell me where the water separating fuel filter and the boost pump pre-filter are located. The maintenance chart indicate that it should be replaced every 100 hours or annually. Are these do it yourself items?

Thanks.

Default Re: separating fuel filter location

Fuel filter is probably on the bottom of the fuel pump, a little can held on by a metal strap with a bolt on the bottom that screws up against the can, probably there is not a fuel/water seperator on your boat. Just follow the fuel line and see if one is there, it almost has to be where you can see it. If your fuel pump is an electric pump then there is probably a spin on fuel filter about the size of an oil filter.
