Yamaha 30hp Engine misfire & lacks power

The engine starts very easy and idle a bit unevenly but fairly well but misfires and lacks power when throttle is opened. Suggestions on possible causes & remedial steps will be appreciated.

Check compression and fire first. If it checks ok there then go after the carbs and fuel pump.
