I was asking a local marine mechanic about a repair manual for my rebuilt 1993 Johnson 150 hp Silver Star Series. He told me that particualr series of engine is not really DIY friendly and there wasn't much that I would be able to do myself. I'm not completely useless with tools and I have some mechanical knowledge. I figure I could use a manual for preventative maintenance, tune-up, upkeep and to learn the nomenclature so I can ask questions on boards like this one. Can anyone suggest a quality repair manual. I know that automotive manuals differ from each other and I would like to make an informed decision. Thank you for any information you may provide.
