1997 225EFI high idle

With the boat in the water, in neutral idle is about 1000, in gear 900. This is way too high. how do you adjust idle speed on EFI motor. boat has hot foot, and I've checked cables for proper adjustments.

Don't have an EFI but most idles are set by a screw. You normally can watch the throttle linkages move (on the engine) as you move the throttle control and see the (a) screw strike something (like the block) and stop the linkage from moving. The screw usually has a knurled end for hand tweaking.

My manual says 675 in gear in the water is correct for a 90 hp so yours should be about the same beins the main reason for the low value is to allow the lower unit to shift properly.
