Hi, can anyone tell me the correct gear ratio for this gearcase? I've just bought a boat with an 85 120 looper with the big v6 gearcase (model year verified using the introduces code). it came with an owners manual for a johnson 120/140 that gives a gear ratio of 13:28 (or 2.15 to 1). if it is correct then my gps verified speed at 5800 rpm of 35.1 mph on a 15" pitch prop yields a slip of .08. boat is a grady white 19 tournament.
Is this maybe an owners manual for a later v4 gearcase looper? I had also thought they only had a 120 in 1985.
