clunk noise under flywheel

Hi,
Hi have a 84 50 hp evinrude and when I rotate the flywheel I hear a clunking noise.I removed the flywheel and made sure every thing was tight.But it still clunks.Could I have a warped flywheel?

I'd remove the flywheel again,and look for any signs of scuffing on the flywheel and the ignition parts it rotates around.You might also remove the sparkplugs and turn the crankshaft and see if the noise is still there.

You might have a bad connecting rod or crankshaft,but you have to do more checking to narrow it down.
