What you guys use for earmuffs?

I went out and bought some earmuffs to use on my Force 85 hp but they dont work. In fact I broke them trying to get them around the gear housing. If the intake was on the higher part of the lower end like other engines they would have worked. But with the intake on the very bottom sides and with it being round, I am stumped on what to do and use.

I tried muffs but not enough water gets up to cool the head, my overheat alarm goes off, I switched to a tank of water instead, no problems with that

They are a pain but a water tub is the best bet. You do not get a good back pressure with muffs even if they work correctly so you wont know if you are hitting on all cylinders till you get to the lake. You also dont get to see the nasty pollution your motor creates till you have it in a water tub. Let it run for 10 minutes in a tub and see the slime on top.
