Pleasse help with OMC I/O lift problem

have 86' Renken w/140hp sterndrive non cobra. when i bought boat the tilt functioned, after sitting for a month would not raise, changed solenoid x 2, still just clicking, changed the tilt motor (it was trash) now you can hear it spinning freely, took off the tilt gear and clutch assembly cleaned it (no water just old grease or oil) took off the triangular plate holding the tilt clutch worm gear assembly out and slid out assembly (worm gear looks fine) But, on inspection the the manual has a retainer bearing with a o-ring on the outermost part of the worm gear shaft that is brass (I think) this is not present, in its place are 2 old washers and there were no nylon washers behind the worm gear on shaft at all as the manual states How can I find a part number on this as I dont have one? manual shows nothing but the brass retainer bearing picture, and how can I fix this? as my boating season is shot now, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It might be easiest to keep an eye on ebay for for a clutch pack assy.

Otherwise you could call steve at ryans marine, in portland or. He may have a used one he can send you. He can also answer your questions with certainty. He repairs units from and sends parts to all over the country.

Tell him that Gyro Gearloose told you to call.

does the motor actuall spin the shaft? may just be a coupling problem where the motor connects to the shaft.
already made a replacement out of alum with a brass bushing could be conned into making anotherif needed.

yes the shaft spins like crazy, hammer bolow coupler seems to be in good shape. How might I con you into making anothe? (how much) there was also no nylon washer in the worm gear housing that I can see. and some of the large washers in the clutch pack are kinds warped out from the center (can you just hammer these flat)?

you arew talking about the retainer bushing at the end of the tilt clutch worm gear shaft correct?

Yep, uses an "O" ring seal,bushing for the shaft. Post is not to clear on the worm shaft. It came out by itself? should have been pinned to the shaft.the retainer has a bushing for the shaft and sets the end play.
