Hiya

I have a Evinrude 15HP longshaft 2 Stroke

Model 159B64E

Serial B014832

On the cover it says A/C Lighting and on the side is a small 3 pin plug.

Can someone tell me what voltage this output is please

I know it is around 82-84W And 6W but need to find out the voltage as i want to find a way to convert this to charge a 12v battery.

Many thanks

Why not measure it? 82-84W sounds right. The 6W value is probably 6 amps. While you could run lights with that output, you cannot run electronics or charge a battery with it. You will need to add a rectifier that converts the AC voltage to DC. At 6 amps output, you would need to run the engine wide open for hours to charge a deeply discharged battery.

That's a belgian made evinrude, i have a 4 hp on just like that. I believe that it is 12VAC for lighting. Thats a European standard for boat lighting (or so I was told). Adding a rectifier and making a trickle charger out of it is certainly a concept, but as Silvertip says, it would take many hours to charge a deeply discharged battery.
