1961 Evinrude 40hp lower gear case repair

I am looking for the replacement prop shaft and clutch dog for my lower gearcase.

I have noticed a set on ebay but couldn't tell from the number the seller put in the discription if it would fit. The seller said "# on the motor 40RL75C". Would that be from a 1975 motor? If so, would that fit in my 1961 housing or not?

Also I would be open to any source other than ebay too.

no, a 75' has a different lower than a 61'

If your motor is either a RDS or RDSL-23 (1961 Johnson 40hp Sea Horse) the original part numbers are as follows: Propeller shaft - 305104 and Shifter clutch dog - 305105. I have the full manual (ended up with it when I bought manual for my 75hp) I'd be happy to part with it for shipping cost. Jeff@TheNewtongang.com
