I have a 50 hp evinrude outboard, the prop says it is a 21,, what does this mean and is it a power prop or speed prop. what would be the best prop for this motor pushing a ranger 14'4" bass boat?

Re: Prop size

21 would be pitch...and a speed prop for that size engine.
The best prop would be the one that will run around 5700RPM at WOT with a normal load.
Do you have a tach? if so, what do you get with the 21P?

I run around 5500-5800 with the 21, and about 30 knots.

Did you notice much change in RPM or speed?
, very little
change in either one maybe 200/300 rpm. no change in speed but better performance then the old prop.
