86 150 Voltage

I'm getting 12.2 v from the system at idle and at 2000 rpm.
Is this normal? If not, can this low voltage have an affect on the ignition system? Specifically spark strengh.
Engine will not rev past 1500 rmp under load. Starts and idles great.

Voltage at the battery should be around 14-15 volts at high idle. I would unhook the battery and check voltage, fully charged should be around 12.5 volts. If not recharge battery or better yet have it load tested to determine if the battery is good. If the battery is good you may have a charging problem. Make sure battery connections are good.

Yes a low or bad battery can cause ignition problems.
