Is there any difference between Yamaha and Mercury gear case lube. I went to the Yamaha dealer to purchase gear oil for winterizing my OX66 225 engine. The dealer was out of Yamaha gear lube which has a greenish tint and instead sold me Mercury Premium gear lube which is clear. The dealer said there was no difference between them. I replace the gearlube every 50 hours (one season). I used the Mercury fluid, do I need to change it back to Yamaha before next season?

They should be very similar. No real reason to be concerned.
