OMC Warning Horn

When I turn on my key the warning horn sounds for about 1/2 second, like normal. Then it starts making a ticking noise like a clock but a lot faster. Does this mean the horn is going out, or the system check isn't working?

I really do appreciate the help!

What you can do is disconnect the alarm inputs to the horn one at a time and see if the chirping stops. Your engine should have four......disconnect the plug from the OMS (VRO) pump, the lead from the oil tank, lead from the vac switch (tells you if you got fuel restriction) and the temp sensors on the block. If the horn still chirps, horn is probably bad.

Thanks OBJ. I have two terminals on my horn. One terminal has two purples on it and the other has a tan lead and a black lead. Does this sound correct?

Yep....that's it. Purple is power, tan is signal and black is ground.
