Motor hasn't been used in years last winter I went through it completely including new plugs. It started fine.
Yesterday I tried to it and the battery's fine and turns fly wheel but there is no spark. Check plugs to see they are clean an connected but nothing. What do i check next?:/

What do you check next?? That's easy, check for a model number. We can help you with a model number. Check starboard side transom mount for metal plate or look on powerhead for quarter sized disc, model numbers are stamped into it.

Make sure it is not too lean, I had the same issue with my 72 Evinrude, sat for 2 years. Turn all the way in then 1 1/2 turns out. This is good starting point. Also..clean clean clean.

no spark, check for a ground short. or make sure it's wired to the switch properly

Just a note on Seaman's post. If it were too lean, it would still spark.

Ok, it looks like a 1975 40hp Evinrude.

Check the kill switch first, disconnect the connector to the switch and check for spark again. If if now sparks, defective (shorted) kill switch, replace. Pull the flywheel and look for a sheared crank shaft woodruf key.

I get 1965 there, X.

Still, test the kill switch.
