I tried to search the forums but did not realy come up with any useful info, perhaps i may not be doing something right. I have applied the gluv-it and next i am going to need to paint the inside and out of a 16 ft lowe.
It is used mostly for salt water. I do not leave it in the water when i am not using it, I trailer it. I have wire brushed the entire boat inside and out and prepared the metal with 50/50 water/vinegar solution. What paint should i use and where can i get it? Thanx in advance!
You can use rustoleum or any good qaulity marine paint. Marine paint is actually single stage urathane that dries very durable and hard. You should consider a primer now that you are down to bare metal and have done the vinegar wash. Zinc chromate is the recommended primer for aluminum.

I am in the process of painting my boat right now and I have found a Rustoleum primer that is working very well. I found it at Home Depot, it is a clean metal primer and comes in a quart size. I would see if you could get in a gallon size. I used 2 1/2 quarts just priming the outside of a 14 jon. Also taking the advice of some people on this message board, I am going to use Rustoleum paint for the top coats. You can use either a latex or oil-based paint with this primer. Good luck with your project.
