I just purchased my first boat which came with a 1969 80HP Merc engine. I haven't gotten it started yet but in looking it over I noticed a lot of cracked wiring inside the engine compartment. Can I purchase a new harness or make one? If I make one is it a special wire or will any wire do? Can the broken insulation be repaired?
It's possible to get a harness from CDI electronics or build or at lest repair what you have in most cases. You can use liquid tape (vinal) in alot of cases to repair cracked wires
