Hi new to the forum. I have a 1989 Arriva with a Force 150HP O/B.

First the steering issue, will moving forward if i let go of the wheel it will turn hard right and is very difficult to turn back the other direction.

Dying issue. When i put the motor into gear (forward or reverse) if i try it slowly it dies, if i get on it, most of the time it does fine but not all the time.

Thanks

Hi Hkmp5sd

On the first one, you need to move the trailing edge(Back) of the trim tab on the lower unit to the right(Turn it Counterclockwise). This will ease the pulling to the right. Move it in small increments until the steering feels right. As for the stalling, you may have dirty carbs and the low speed circuit is crudded up. Are you sure your idle speed is correct in gear? Should be around 700 RPM's. I don't know offhand if that motor has low speed needle adjustments or not. If so, you may want to turn them out a bit to richen it up at idle...

You may also want to check and/or replace the fuel filter and pump. That could be leaning the mixture at low idle and causing the motor to die out. At high rpm, you are pushing enough fuel thru to keep things running. You may also notice that you don't have the top end you had before. Do a decarb too and that will clean out the fuel system. You can find the procedures in the FAQ section of the forum and a big welcome to iBoats.

Your motor has 3 cd modules.
Each one is capable of feeding 2 cylinders.
So you have six feeds, but only 5 cylinders.]
Often, one of the cd output feeds will fail, but the second output feed is still functioning.

Take the cd that is feeding #2 and swap it with the cd that is only feeding one cylinder. Us the second feed off the cd to supply that single cylinder.

Thanks roscoe

I moved cylinder 2 to the second CD feed that is feeding cylinder 3 and changed the wiring on the terminal block. Now i have spark on all cylinders but it seems to run worse.
