I have a 2000 Volvo sx outdrive on a FourWInns that I just purchased from my brother inlaw. When I turn hard to the left or right I get a vibration in the Transom area of the boat. My brother in law says it has done this since he has had it, he bought with 96 hrs on it. It now has 185hrs. I was thinking either U Joints or Gimbal bearing. Is this Normal? should I worry about it or have it looked at?

Pull the drive, check the u-joints, gimble bearing, and alignment. Also check the condition of all the rubber componants (boots and hose) while your in there.

No, this is not normal. If it has been vibrating like this as long as he has had it, the real question is what else has he not taken care of?
