But I will give you the courtesy of answering your question: You remove the nut off the bottom of the shaft and the bearing housing which is under the water pump. You need a special tool to properly torque the nut when reassembling.

I have a manual but it doesn`t cover bottom end.
i`ll have to make a spanner for pinion nut, after i work out how to get to it .I`me in australia.
That gearcase has three large snap ring's. Two, in the back to retain the prop shaft bearing carrier, and one in the front to retain the oil pump. Those ring's are bear trap strong, and need a special pliers.
