1989 Rude 150 has slight miss at WOT

I have a 1989 Evinrude 150 VRO. Starts and idles fine but once it warms up it starts missing above 3000 rpm. So far I have replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, water seperator, fuel line and remved and cleaned the carbs and fuel tank. The primer bulb stays hard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had this happen to me ,It was a bad coil that only acted up after it warmed up. but you never know

Put a timing light on each coil wire. See if any of them don't fire strongly and pulse on a regular basis. Look for misfires. See if the misfires are only one one plug, or if they randomly move from plug to plug.

Timing light is a good idea, also a spark plug test might show one or more weaker than others...not detectable as misfire except at high speed. Start it up in the dark...see if any of your plug wires are arcing...dirt on the wires can provide a path to ground.

caution - don't rev above 1200 or 1500 on the muffs or in neutral.

Thanks for the info I am going to check for the possible bad coil or wire. I'll let you know what I find

I actually had the same problem too. Turned out to be a partially clogged high speed jet in one carb. If you come up with nothing on the electrical side it might be a good idea to recheck those jets in the bowls.
